ORDER

Subject: Promotion (on ad-hoc basis) and postings of Senior Time Scale(STS) officers of Indian Postal Service, Group A to Junior Administrative Grade (JAG) of the Service and transfers/postings of regular JAG Officers of Indian Postal Service Group A.

The president is pleased to order promotion (on ad hoc basis) of the following Senior Time Scale (STS) Officers of Indian Postal Service, Group A to the Junior Administrative Grade (JAG) of the service in Level 12 of the Pay matrix (Rs. 78800-209200) with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post for a period of eleven months or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Consequent upon their promotion(on ad hoc basis) the officers are posted as mentioned below.

2. The aforesaid ad hoc promotion of the officers is subject to the following conditions:

  • The ad hoc Promotions may be terminated at any point of time without giving any reasons therof.
  • The ad hoc promotions shall not confer any right on the officers to continue in JAG indefinitely or for regular promotions to the grade.
  • The service rendered on ad hoc basis in JAG would not count for the purpose of seniority in that grade or for promotions to the next higher grade.

3. the ad hoc promotions are further subject to vigilance clearance in terms of DoP&T O.M. No. 22011/4/91Estt.(A) dated 14.09.1992, O.M. No. 22012/1/99-Estt.(D) dated 25.10.2004 and O.M. 22034/4/2012-Estt(D) dated 02.11.2012 and also other relevant instructions. The office where the officers are posted on their ad hoc promotion to JAG should issue their promotion orders only after verifying that no disciplinary proceedings are pending or contemplated against him. In case of such proceedings, the matter may be reported to this office immediately and the officer concerned should not be promoted on ad hoc basis without obtaining specific orders from this office.

4. The Controlling officer/Head of Circles concerned shall ensure immediate relieve of the above officers under local arrangements only after verifying their vigilance status as mentioned in Para 2 above, They may be directed to report to their new places of posting immediatly.

5. Relevant Charge reports may be sent in due course.

6. Shri Prateek jhajharia (IPoS:2011) and shri Dhammajyoti Ramdas Gajbhiye (IPoS:2011) who are presently on deputation will have to revert to their present cadre i.e. Department of Posts, for availing the promotion on ad hoc basis.
