This is regarding rollout of Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) scheme on Pan India basis. In this scheme, the delivery staff (Postman / GDS / Outsourced) will bring their own device for running apps of Department & India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) and shall be given a remuneration for smartphone and data charges.

2. The total remuneration to be given to the delivery staff shall comprise a fixed incentive of Rs. 200 pet smartphone. Additionally, an amount of Rs. 150 per month for SIM/Data/SMS charges shall be refunded. SIM & data/voice/SMS plans will have to be purchased by the delivery staff considering the availability of sound network connectivity of the service providers in the beat area. It is subject to the condition that minimum 90% of articles being received for delivery shall have to be processed though PMA.

3. The detailed instructions for the roll out of the BYOD scheme is enclosed herewith. Details of all the mobile phones enrolled under BYOD scheme may be shared by the Circles on fortnightly basis to Mail Operations Division in the format as per Annexure-A. (copy enclosed)

3.1 List of models prescribed by BYOD scheme are enclosed at Annexure – B, which shall be updated from time  to time. Mobile Device Management (MDM) software will be installed by IPPB for providing necessarily security for running of IPPB applications. Circles should coordinate with IPPB to get installation of IPPB MDM.

4. Circles are requested to encourage the delivery staff to enroll under BYOD scheme as it can replace / considerably reduce the procurement of mobile phones in future. Efforts must be made to get enroll all delivery beats which are presently not having the mobile handset for handling delivery / IPPB operations by 31.10.2022 Progress / review of the BYOD scheme in the Circle may also be shared on 09.21.2022.
