The Department of Posts (DOP) has released a revised exam calendar for the year 2024. This revision is due to the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) during upcoming elections.

Sub: Calendar of Departmental Examinations scheduled to be held in the year 2024-reg. Sir/ Madam,
Please find enclosed Calendar of Departmental Examinations pertaining to Postal Accounts offices (Annexure-A) to be held in the year 2024.
Annexure-A. Necessary orders for setting of question papers for the said Examinations from the selected panel will be issued separately by the Head of the PAOs concerned. The Notification of holding the examination and calling for applications will have to be issued by the PAOs well in time as per the prescribed time limit of 40 days and the number of vacancies must be invariably indicated category-wise for the examinations as per the existing Recruitment Rules. In case where no vacancy exists or the Examination is not likely to be held for any other reason(s), the fact should be brought to the notice of PA Wing, DoP HQ.
3 The examinations shall be conducted as per the SOP issued vide this office OM No.3-
09/2021-PACE/ Exam/ DE/ 10228 to 10250 dated 06.01.2022. Further the officials on temporary attachment at DoP HQ or any other unit or on Deputation to any other department shall be allowed to appear in the exam in their respective unit.

2. Circles are requested to adhere to the Time Schedule as indicated in the Calendar of Examinations, 2023 and complete the entire recruitment process by July, 2023. The Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) issued under letter No. A-34012/02/2022-DE dated 11.08.2022 shall be followed in letter and spirit.
3. Circles are also requested to revise the vacancy position in r/o the LDCE mentioned at Sl No.2 of the Annexure ‘A’ to the Calendar by incorporating the vacancy for the year 2023 and intimate to the Directorate.
4. This issues with the approval of the Competent Authority.

(ii) Jumbling of the questions to create 4 series (A, B, C & D) of the Question Papers.
(iii) Printing of the required number of question Papers in English, Hindi and the notified local language(s) for the Circle.
(iv) Procurement of required number of OMR sheets.
(v) All formalities relating to conducting of examinations.
(vi) Conducting the Data Entry Skill Test (DEST) [if prescribed in the pattern of the examination].
(vii) Declaration of the results.
3. It may be ensured that the Time Schedule as indicated in the Calendar of Examinations, 2022 is strictly adhered to and timely action be taken at all stages.
