How to Update Mobile and e Mail in Employee ID in SAP

The mobile number and e-mail id of all employees shall be updated in the employee Self-Service Portal using their user credentials in SAP.

All the employees (both departmental and GDS) upto SO level has access to ESS Portal. Concerned HO may get the details of mobile number and e-mail id of the GDS working in BOs and update the same in the SAP. The procedure for the same is furnished below:

  1. Login into EP → Click on Employee Self-Service Tab → Click on “Personal Information” as shown below
  2. Then click on “Maintain Communication Details”
  3. Choose relevant “Communication Type”. Enter the details [Mobile Number, e-mail id etc.,] and submit. The information so submitted will be updated in the SAP.
  4. The communication details can also be uploaded in bulk by the concerned DDO. The T-code and format to upload are given below as in PDF.

The SAP NetWeaver Portal is a J2EE application that is designed to handle HTTP requests for portal components. A portal component is a Java class written and packaged specifically to run in the portal. The portal application is deployed under the URL /irj. Therefore, IRJ is the SAP Enterprise Portal running under SAP NetWeaver Java Application Server. In Simple words,

IRJ in SAPEP is a component used to execute Employee Web Portal

This is actually not needed and no use in the working environment. But, we already learnt more technical terms not related to Department of Posts like SAP, McCamish, ECMS, FTP Server, DPMS, BCP, Web Server, Message Server, ascsECP, Sify, Network – Primary Link, Secondary Link i.e NSP1 and NSP2, CEPT Finacle Server, CPC, EP-Employee Portal, ESS, MSS, General Ledger in Finacle, CSI, FSI, GL Code, FMenu, Tcode, SAP Netweaver, SAP CRP, PMA, PostInfo, CSC, Credit and Debit Entries, GL to GL Posting, Webmail, OWA and etc.,

Hence, know of IRJ is not much complicated than Credit and Debit Entry in SAP which means understanding of 40 50 entries between TCB and Daily Account.

I am directed to intimated that Chief PMG has ordered to apply all kinds of leave (i.e) CL/RH/EL/ Com. Leave on MC/CCL/Maternity Leave etc through Leave Management Module of Employee Self Service (ESS) Portal. The manual process of submitting leave application will continue till further orders to take of the transition period.

New URL For Employee Portal To End Users And Field Units || Accessible Through SIFY & Also In Mobile

Dear Sir/Madam,
New URL For Employee Portal
This is regarding simplification of EP Architecture by by-passing ‘Siteminder’ Authentication and Apache Servers. The change is made with a view on improved system performance, better user experience and quick troubleshooting. Consequently, the existing employee portal URL has been restricted and EP has to be accessed on http://sapep.indiapost.gov.in:8400/irj/portal. It is requested to communicate the new URL to end users/ field units for accessing the portal.
Note: The employee portal will be available in both SIFY and private network.

EMPLOYEES SELF SERVICE IN PUBLIC DOMAIN || SAP EMPLOYEE

Dear Friends,

Many of our friends raising query about accessing SAP ESS portal in public domain. Are hosts file entries required to open the said portal or Firefox is only compatible, etc.,?
In few cases, doubts about URL…..(http//sapep.indiapost.gov.in.8080/irj/portal)<– Portal address wrongly shared in WhatsApp Group without “:”

Whats is actual fact?

SAP ESS is being released access for public domain for enabling employee access at home or any other places other than offices. But, the portal is not opening due to configuration issue and it will be settled in few days.
Actually, the hosts entry is not necessary for accessing Employee portal. The access of Employee portal is not available/ very slow in public domain in working hours most probably  0600 to 2300 hours.

All Browsers are compatible for access ESS portal in Computer, Laptop and Mobile Phones. Standard browsers i.e Internet Explorer, Chrome and Firefox are recommended for secured and reliable connection.
What is correct URL for ESS portal.

 http://sapep.indiapost.gov.in.8080/irj/portal

http is  enough.
