This Post is to inform that in the Tamil Nadu circle about the pilot rollout of McCamish and GL Integration for Postal Life Insurance (PLI). The rollout will begin on April 23rd, 2024 and encompass all post offices within the circle.

Sub: To deactivate “BO UPI QR through IPPB” (the existing digital payment at BOs).

On the captioned subject, I am directed to intimate that the Standard Accounting Procedure for “BO UPI QR through IPPB” issued vide PA/CSI/02/131/2022-23 dated 20.05.2022 cease to operate and shall be discontinued, on implementation of “SBI Dynamic QR Code” at HOS/SOS/BOS.

All Circles shall ensure that the transactions done by the Branch Post Offices through IPPB QR are reconciled and settled and Customer grievances are resolved.

This is issued with the approval of competent authority.

POS Version 4.6

Kind attention: Assam, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Jammu Kashmir and Madhya Pradesh Circles.


All PoS enabled offices in Assam, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Jammu Kashmir and Madhya Pradesh Circles will be configured for updating PoS version 4.5 to 4.6 at 4.30 pm today. They can upgrade PoS to the latest version after 4.30 pm today (14..06.2022).

The offices which are ready to update the PoS to the new version may please ensure successful execution of Daily Sync and then do the following in one of the machines.

After successful execution of Daily Sync, the Back Office and Counter applications have to be upgraded.

a. For upgradation of Back Office application, open “Back Office” application. This will enable auto-update of Back Office application. Wait till completion of updation process.
b. After successful upgradation of Back Office, open “Counter” application in the same machine. This will enable auto-update of Counter application. Wait till completion of updation process.
c. If more than one Counter machine exists, then please copy “Application” folder available in C:\PoS folder path (from PoS version 4.5 upgraded machine) and paste the same irrespective location of other machines.
d. Successful completion of above steps will complete the PoS version update.

After successful upgradation, please follow below mentioned steps on your PoS Server machine:

a. Ensure successful execution of High Sync
b. Open the link http://172.19.64.105:8080/pos/Database_Build/Db_Patch_Renewal.zip
c. Extract the downloaded ZIP file and run “DbActivity.bat” file
d. On successful execution, you will get a success message (Utility Executed Successfully)
e. If success message is not shown, then try again and again till success message is shown
f. In case of any error during execution of “DbActivity.bat” file, please log a ticket on Service Desk
g. If “DbActivity.bat” file executed successfully, but issue in PoS is not resolved, then please log a ticket on Service Desk

How to Recall Postal Articles in CSI

Recall Procedures of Postal Articles in CSI Environment | How to get Return Speed Post After Booking | What Documents required to recall Postal Articles.

Hello Friends, Today we will talk about recalling of Postal Articles, that how can we get back our speed post or registered Post even after Booking at Post Office Counter and what will be fee for recall or return of Our Speed Post.

Conditions of Recall of Postal Articles.

  • It has not been delivered to the addressee.
  • It has not been confiscated or destroyed by the competent authorities of the country in which the article may be for the time being.
  • It has not been seized by virtue of any law of the country of destination.

Fee of Recall an Article.

>Rs 6 for an inland article
>Rs 30 for foreign articles
Fee is payable in shape of postage
Stamps and defaced by counter Postal Assistant at time of presentation.

Documents Required for Recalling in Postal Articles.

1. Xerox copy of Photo identity [if necessary]
2. Original receipt of the article.
3. A manuscript application with stating of reason
4. One witness[if complicated]

Process of Recall in CSI

  1. In the main screen of POS Counter Application, Click on “Miscellaneous Services” and select the option “Inland Recall Articles”
  2. Choose the article type Mail and enter the tracking number of the article to be recalled.
  3. Press F8 key after entering the tracking no. The system will display the details of the article entered.
  4. Click on payment option after verifying the details and submit the transaction to generate the printed receipt. Collect the fee of Rs. 6/-
  5. If the Article no. entered has been already delivered or invoiced to the postman at delivery office, the system will display the message that re-callable article is not found.
  6. If the article is in transit, a notification is displayed while opening the bag in SAP at the sorting hub/Delivery Office.
  7. The recalled article will be neither to allowed to invoice it to the postman nor to be delivered through windows delivery option in DPMS.
  8. The recalled article has to be returned to the sender through the Return option in DPMS.
  9. Scan the article number and select Recalled as the reason for returning the article.
  10. Dispatch the article in PO Back office after fetching the article through return and redirect option.

Sub: Automatic opening and closing of Monthly Posting Period in CSI.

This is to inform that automated opening and closing of Monthly posting period in CSI system has been effected in CSI from the Month of Sep-2020. The process shall be done in CSI as follows.
Opening of monthly posting period of the following month shall be done at 06.00 pm of the last day of the current month. (i.e., in case opening of posting period of Oct-2020, it shall be opened at 06.00 pm on 30.09.2020)
Closing of monthly period of the current month shall be done at 10.00 pm on 5th of the following month. (i.e., in case of closing of Sep-2020 period, it shall be closed at 10.00 pm on 05.10.2020).
The process shall be done automatically. CEPT shall monitor this.
Provision for manual intervention in opening and closing of posting periods is also available subject to the approval of competent authority (PAF Wing).
This issues with the approval of competent authority.
