Department of Posts issued instructions to all CPMsG to take appropriate action while issuing LDCE Notification regarding relaxation in Eligibility service as below – DOP Order 6th May 2022

Subject:- Relaxation in the eligibility service – change in the crucial date i.e. 1st January.

Madam / Sir

I am directed to refer to Directorate’s letter of even number dated 20.09.2021 (copy enclosed ).

2. The matter has been reviewed in consultation with Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT). Now it has been decided based on the advice of the DoPT that relaxation up to three (3) months in eligibility service condition shall be allowed only in cases where promotion is through Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC). But the relaxation in eligibility service condition shall not be allowed in case of Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE).

3. Further, relaxation up to three (3) months in eligibility service condition shall not be allowed to Gramin Dak Sewak (GDS) while being considered for appointment to the posts of Multi Tasking Staff (MTS), Postman, Mail Guard. Postal Assistant and Sorting Assistant, whether by seniority or by competitive examination limited to GDS, as appointment of GDS to aforesaid posts is treated as ‘Direct Recruitment’.

4. All Circles will, therefore, take appropriate action while issuing notification the Limited Departmental Competitive Examination and processing case for appointment of GDS to posts of Multi lasking Staff (MTS). Postman, Mail Guard. Postal Assistant and Sorting Assistant whether by seniority or by examination.

5. Case(s) already decided on the basis of Ietter of even number dated 20.09.2021 shall not be reopened.
