Subject : Regarding Suspension/De-linking of Post Attached Quarters
Madam/Sir,
There is a provision in Postal Manual to make postmaster’s quarter in a Post Office Building . As per Departmental Instructions conveyed vide letter no. 7/6/99-Bldg. dated 13/14.12.2001. It is mandatory for the incumbent to occupy the post attached quarter. However, it is seen that many post attached quarters are lying vacant due to lack of demand. Therefore, unions are demanding to de-link the post attached quarters, so that there should not be any loss in payment for HRA to the incumbent. Directorate has received many representation from the Unions for De-linking/Suspension of post attached quarters earmarked for Postmasters, Group ‘B’ Officers, etc.
2. In view of the above, I am directed to request you to furnish your views in the matter by 30.11.2021 positively, so that a decision can be taken in the Directorate.
