To
The candidates,
LGO Examination dated 09.12.2018.

Respected candidates,
Sub: Correct answer of the question related to “/Authority competent to sanction loan against PLI and RPLI polices” in the Paper II (LGP) Postal Assistants

There is a question in Paper II Question Booklet Series: D
Question No. 40. Authority competent to sanction loan against PLI and RPLI polices:-
(a) Postmaster of CPC (b) Head of Division
(c) PMG (d) CPMG

Answer given by the provisional key provided by the Department is (c) PMG

But the correct answer is (a) Postmaster of CPC

I am submitting rulings on the subject as detailed below:-

I. According to the Rule No. 59 (2) of Post Office Life Insurance Rules, 2011, the Postmaster General / Head of Division is sanctioning the loan on PLI and RPLI polices.

II. According to Amendment No. 52 of Amendment Notification dated 11.03.2014 gives amendment replacing the Postmaster General / Head of Division Rule No. 59 (2) of Post Office Life Insurance Rules, 2011 by the Postmaster / Manager of Central Processing Centre (GPO/Head Office).

Hence the Postmaster of Central Processing Centre is the competent authority to sanction loan on PLI and RPLI polices.

The candidates who answered as “Authority competent to sanction loan against PLI and RPLI polices is (a) Postmaster of CPC” may represent against the provisional key as per the direction given by the Department.

Madurai -14 Yours faithfully
